Memories of decade ago, the tragedy, the responses, the
orphans in Cuddalore, the fishing village in Kerala all washed out in a few
moments, my colleagues in UNICEF, all came rushing back.
One question:Did the promises made come through? I am
sure we all agree they should have been, if not they still should be...better
late than never.
What happened to the orphans...I would like to know if
there is a report.
Is there a report on the various ATRs of the different
recommendations?
I would request the NDMA to the enlightenment of the
nation publicise the follow through of the lessons learnt.
Let’s bow our heads in the memory of those that
suffered nature's wrath and prepare ourselves to meet the challenges of the
future.
